Our education center serves as an alternative to the "traditional" school model with a hands-on, student led learning environment. We have modeled our philosophy after the one room school house. The only time in our lives that we are divided in to age groups is in the traditional school environment. We believe that mixed age pods is a healthier approach, allowing students to develop both academically and socially, while learning how to work with others of varying ages and backgrounds. We emphasize physical, mental and nutritional health through a variety of programs. The families we serve share common core values, ensuring that the environment allows children to embark on their curiosity and natural love of learning.

Our team

Katy lamandia

Katy, a mom of two boys, wife of a cop, and proud daughter of a Marine Corps veteran, is on a mission to transform education. Frustrated with the public school system, her dive into alternative education models turned into a passion to create lasting change for her family and the community. Guided by her faith in God, grit and refusal to accept less for her kids, Katy founded Apogee Odessa.

Tim Kennedy

Tim’s hard work and passion have resulted in an extraordinary life. Green Beret, UFC Fighter, and Television Host are all among his career highlights, but perhaps not as personally meaningful as Husband, Father, and Patriot. Tim is a great example of being unapologetically American!
