Apogee Odessa is a cellphone-free campus. We also do not allow smartwatches or other personal smart devices during the day. Our students do use computers as part of their educational experience, but technology is used intentionally, under staff supervision, and only for a specific purpose. We believe technology is a powerful tool when used wisely, not a source of constant entertainment or distraction. As students demonstrate responsibility and good judgment, they earn increasing levels of freedom in how they use technology. We also encourage families to thoughtfully delay introducing smartphones whenever possible, and we regularly discuss healthy technology habits, digital responsibility, and intentional technology use with our students. We maintain a clean food policy on campus and ask that lunches and snacks not include artificial food dyes, processed sugary treats, candy, soda, or other junk food. We also incorporate conversations about nutrition, healthy lifestyles, and daily movement as part of our culture.
